Scottish Water has provided an update after 250,000 people were affected by a burst pipe.

We previously reported that aat the junction of Auchenhowie Road and Glasgow Road on Tuesday afternoon, causing water supply issues in several Glasgow areas.

Around 250,000 customers in Glasgow city centre, Knightswood, Yoker, Scotstoun, Partick, Kelvinside, Tradeston and Ibrox had been impacted by the burst on a 36-inch major water main at Auchenhowie Road in Milngavie.A spokeswoman said: “Supply has been restored to all customers impacted by this major burst.

"A small number of customers may still be experiencing no water or low pressure whilst the system continues to recharge and recover, which we expect to be completed during the early hours of the morning. "This was a major burst which impacted a large number of people in and around Glasgow, we thank everyone for their patience while our teams worked hard to restore supply as quickly as possible.”

The firm then tweeted at around 7am this morning that customers in the G3 area may still be experiencing issues.
