Fire officials said Scottsdale has had numerous fires that began at a construction site and spread into the desert. One happened just Saturday.SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Scottsdale Fire Department was called to a fire Saturday started by a construction crew... and it wasn't the first time. "Dear construction workers, please stop starting brush fires in our desert," the department said in a social media post with an attached letter with fire safety recommendations.
"Many brush fires start from sparks from chains, cutting, welding, and grinding metals, which are common on residential construction sites," fire officials said."With these types of activities regularly and are often adjacent to the Preserve, these quickly became the focus for targeted efforts by the Prevention Division in 2020 and continues today.
