Dan Bird, a Scouser competing in the third series of The Traitors, is facing scrutiny from viewers. While fellow Scouser Minah Shannon excels as a traitor, Dan struggles to identify the betrayers despite his suspicions.

Viewers of The Traitors have issued a warning about a Scouser in this year’s series. Dan Bird , 33, is a bank risk manager from Liverpool who is competing in the third series of the hit BBC show. Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, it sees a group of strangers stay at a castle in the Scottish Highlands to play a game which will test their detection, backstabbing and trust – with the chance of winning up to £120,000.

A group of 'traitors' must secretly murder their fellow players without getting caught, while the 'faithful' attempt to banish the traitors from the game. Those left at the end have a chance of winning a chunk of the prize, but if a traitor survives until the end they can take the full prize. Fellow Scouser Minah Shannon, 29, who is a call centre manager, has played a prominent role in this current series. She was selected by Claudia to be one of the three traitors, with many viewers praising how she has played the role so far. By contrast, Dan was selected as a faithful and fellow contestants have not suspected him of being otherwise so far. However, some have argued he could be in trouble as he tries to work out who the traitors are. In the first episode broadcast on Wednesday, Yin, a 34 year-old communication scientist, was the first person to be murdered by The Traitors. After this, he expressed his sadness to Linda without realising she is one of the traitors and therefore responsible for knocking Yin out of the game. Dan told Linda in the breakfast room: “I really liked Yin and I was worried about her.' Linda replied: “You've got a good instinct then. I didn't really get to know her, just briefly spoke to her.” He also told her that Anna was a traitor, when in fact she is a faithful. Speaking later to the cameras, he added: “I think the Traitors are relying on groupthink which is working in their favour because a lot of people don’t like people who aren't like them
