Former Bank of England chief economist branded decision a 'big mistake'
Israel's spies relied too much on tech over human informants, former intelligence officer saysscrap HS2 in the north of England, has attacked the decision to drop the high speed line north of Birmingham, adding the replacement transport projects announced by the Prime Minister were not thought through.
Mr Sunak has been forced to admit that the hundreds of transport schemes he announced in place of HS2, dubbed Network North, were not guaranteed to happen, stating that they were “illustrative” of what could be done. Mr Sunak attracted severe criticism from business and local political leaders over his decision to axe the £36bn HS2 scheme, but the admonishment from the Government’s chief adviser on levelling up is damaging.
