A man fell 160ft down a hill after a wild female pig-tailed macaque, known as a ‘devil monkey’, leapt out of the bushes on him. He was then attacked by more monkeys.

They were biting and scratching me… I was injured from the fall and I thought there was no way for me to escape. ‘I couldn’t believe it was happening. They were so aggressive and there were too many of them for me to fight them. He was rushed to the Sawee Hospital as he was losing a lot of blood. He is since recovering in hospital after receiving injections for rabies. The Na Sak Police Station said he had suffered deep cuts on his right ankle, achilles tendon, and both arms, and was crying from the pain.
