In Atlantic City, about a dozen World War II veterans were among the hundreds who attended the ceremony, complete with a military flyover by the New Jersey National Guard’s 177th Fighter Wing, cannon salute by the Last Salute Military Funeral Honor Guard, and posting of the colors. Friendenberg’s pastor, Rabbi Aaron Krauss, recited Kaddish, the Jewish prayer of mourning.
