'The company should be clear that we don't need a piece of paper for us to fight with and for members on all and any issues in their workplace'
The Unite trade union has vowed to continue its fight for recognition at Seagate as job loss fears continue to hang over workers at the Derry site.
Unite, meanwhile, have been seeking official recognition following a "member-led" organising campaign over the past six months at the site in the Springtown area of the city.Politicians in Derry are demanding an urgent meeting with the management of Seagate, one of the city's largest employers, amid the speculation about possible job losses.
Last month, a Seagate spokesperson said the company's priority "remains to maintain a respectful workplace where each employee can make an informed decision."
