Seahawks safety Jamal Adams suffered a torn quadricep tendon in the first game of the 2023 season and underwent surgery.
“Jamal is back. He’s gotta make it through the week but he’s ready to go,” Carroll said. “He is so ready. As jacked up, as excited a player as he is, we’ve just got to keep him calmed down. I’ve already started talking to him about that so that he doesn’t lose his brains because he’s so fired up to play.”When healthy, Adams is one of the few players who can impact all three levels of Seattle’s defense. He holds the single-season sack record for a defensive back .
Adams’ versatility is rare.Adams has always been an every-down player in Seattle so his return to the lineup could mean demoting, who has played all of the team’s meaningful defensive snaps through three weeks. Love, a fourth-round pick of the Giants in 2019, was acquired by Seattle via free agency on a two-year, $12 million deal with the thought he could play beside Adams, but it’s unclear how those two will be deployed against Love’s former team.
