Things don’t look promising for the continuation of Brandon Aiyuk in Santa Clara. There’s no progress on a contract, and reports now emerge that he’s not expected to play for the 49ers this season.
Two ankles and a shoulder have given up on the Rams front in the span of a couple days. It’s the first week of August, but having three linemen who are - whatever “week-to-week” means is not helpful. Star receiver Puka Nacua is also week-to-week with a knee injury of his own. McVay has often capitalized more than most on the Seahawks’ inability to stop the run, while boasting one of the best play-action offenses.
