Everton manager Sean Dyche was asked about Ben Godfrey and his right-back options after the 2-0 defeat at Manchester United
Everton manager Sean Dyche insists: “It’s not about one player or the other,” when questioned why Ben Godfrey is getting into the team at right-back ahead of three specialist options in the position. Godfrey , who by his own admission, sees centre-back as his natural role, made just one Premier League start for Everton in the first half of the season but has now been picked for the last seven matches in a row at right-back.
“You’ve never had a better chance to score a goal because nobody thinks you can. That’s always the best way. “The other thing about stats is that they’re coming your way. They have to be coming your way if you keep creating 23 efforts at goal at Old Trafford, the stats have to be coming your way. “Therefore, as long as you keep doing that and you add on to the standard that you’re looking for, whether it’s runs, attacking the ball or getting hurt to score a goal, then they will come your way.
