Beto was confirmed as an Everton player on Tuesday afternoon
It was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Everton had signed Beto from Udinese Calcio for an undisclosed fee. The 25-year-old has signed a four-year contract until the end of June 2027.
Strengthening Dyche’s attacking options has been the club’s main priority this summer after being one of the lowest scorers in English football last season. The Blues have also failed to score a single goal in their first three games of the Premier League season, further highlighting the desperate need for attacking reinforcements.
A powerful, hard-working forward boasting a quick burst of pace, Beto has reached double figures for goals in each of his past four seasons, and Dyche believes the forward has all the attributes needed for him to become a success.READ MORE: Beto reveals Gerard Deulofeu talks in first words after Everton transfer
He said: "We have been eager to strengthen our striking options to add more attacking quality to our squad, and the arrival of Beto gives us that."As a powerful striker who can carry the ball, hold up play, is strong in the air, and works hard for the team, he has a lot of attributes that we hope can see him prove to be a success with Everton."
The 6ft 4in Portuguese, whose full name is Norberto Bercique Gomes Betuncal, becomes the Blues’ fifth signing of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of Ashley Young and forwards Arnaut Danjuma, Youssef Chermiti and Jack Harrison.
