Everton manager Sean Dyche caused a stir when he abandoned his usual shirt and tie for training gear on the touchline as his side defeated Nottingham Forest at Goodison Park on Sunday.
When Shreeves suggested that Dyche doesn’t mix things up too much when it comes to his choice of clothes on the touchline, he said: “There was an origin to that. When I was at Watford, Aidy Boothroyd came in, took over and did an amazing job straight away, got promoted and all that.“He brought me back as a coach and we were rambling on one day and I used to ask him about how he was doing it and all that and it got mentioned about a suit.
“The ref said: ‘Aidy, I didn’t know who you were. Your staff all look the same because you all had training kit on. Dyche added: “I don’t think I was a mega famous player. Everybody knew me at Watford but I thought: ‘We’ll set the scene early.’
