Corrie confirms Sean Wilson will return as Martin Platt.
New details have emerged It’s being reported Sean Wilson has now introduced lawyers in the aftermath of his sudden departure from Coronation Street. Over the weekend, reports suggested the soap star may have been axed. Sean, 59, appeared as Martin Platt in Corrie from 1985 to 2005 and was last seen on the soap six years ago.
He had filmed scenes with loads of the cast, but then suddenly he was summoned to head office, and later it filtered out he wouldn’t be returning or his scenes airing, but no explanation offered. He was set to return for Gail’s exit He was an iconic member of the cobbles ‘Clearly it’s a major blow for bosses who must now find a new magical and happy ending for Helen – but they are confident they’ll pull it out of the bag, and give viewers something wonderful.
