A search is under way after a woman fell overboard from a Taylor Swift-themed cruise in the Bahamas, officials have said. The Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas ship was about 17 miles from the capital, Nassau, when the 66-year-old was reported to have fallen on Tuesday night. The US Coast Guard said it was assisting the Royal Bahamas Defense Force in the search, as it continued into Wednesday morning, Sky News’ US partner network NBC reported.
A Royal Caribbean spokesperson said it is working with local authorities and is providing support and assistance to the guest’s family 'during this difficult time'. The ship - with a few hundred Swifties on board - left Miami in Florida on Monday as part of a fan-led organised event called In My Cruise Era.
