The second suspect in two brutal home invasions and shootings in Wheaton and Lombard was handed down a lengthy prison sentence for his alleged role in the crimes. Isaiah Johnson, 24, was sentenced to 72 years in prison after being identified as the second suspect in two home break-ins and shootings in August 2020, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney. Johnson appeared in court Thursday for his sentencing after pleading guilty on Aug.
After going outside, the residents were confronted by Pitts and Johnson. Officials say Johnson pointed a handgun at the homeowners as Pitts went inside through the back door. Pitts then went into a bedroom, where two girls and their grandmother were sleeping. The grandmother woke up and started speaking to Pitts, when she was struck in her left cheek, ear and neck, officials say.
