The official opening of the Paris Olympics is set for a first-of-its kind ceremony with thousands of athletes sailing down the river Seine and even more spectators lining its banks to witness the spectacle. Céline Dion and Lady Gaga have been spotted in the city, rumored to be special guests of the event. NBC’s Tom Llamas reports for TODAY.
Hoda Kotb is ready for her Olympics closeup. The TODAY co-anchor sat down for her official Team USA headshot at the Team USA Welcome Experience in Paris on July 25 ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics. Hoda beams as she mugs for the camera, wearing a light blue Nike top with a circular logo adorned over the left chest reading “United State Olympic Team” on it. The American flag and Olympic rings also appear on it.
Hoda sported a black gown to the event, which was also attended by TODAY’s Willie Geist, Snoop Dogg, who joined NBC coverage of the upcoming Games, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Steven Spielberg, LeBron James, Jeremy Allen White, Serena Williams and more. Hoda has not been shy about her excitement as the Games inch closer. “I’m looking forward to the feeling of just elation, unity, inspiration ... all the things that the Olympics brings,” she said in TODAY.
