A 'beauty consultant' has reportedly disregarded a legal ban on carrying out cosmetic procedures despite selling his business one month earlier. Ricky Sawyer performed high-risk Brazilian butt-lifts, involving dermal filler injections, causing complications for nearly 40 women. The findings were submitted to Trafford Council in May, which imposed the injunction.
A self-styled " beauty consultant " allegedly allowed "dangerous" cosmetic procedures to be carried out despite a legal injunction against him, a court has heard. A BBC investigation last year found Ricky Sawyer had performed risky Brazilian butt-lifts and he was banned by Trafford Council , along with other authorities, from carrying out or arranging cosmetic procedures until 2028.
Sawyer is accused of breaching the council injunction by arranging for other people to carry out procedures. He denies the allegations and claims he sold his business last May, so was not responsible for its subsequent activities. The BBC investigation heard from nearly 40 women who reported serious complications, including sepsis and necrosis, after procedures by Sawyer that involved injecting dermal filler into clients' buttocks to make them look bigger.
The findings were submitted to Manchester Civil Justice Centre as part of the 2025 legal action by Trafford Council, which resulted in the injunction in May last year. Sawyer was questioned earlier by Gary Lewis, the barrister acting for Trafford Council. Lewis suggested the sale of Sawyer's company, The Clinic Club, had been a sham, adding the lack of an original copy of the sale agreement or messages with the buyer, Lilly Silverman, also suggested this.
He said the lack of an original document and messages was because he had lost his mobile phone and got a new one. Sawyer said this was because Silverman had instead paid suppliers to whom he owed money.
"The reason there's no evidence is because you never sold the business to Lilly Silverman and did not receive any money for it," Lewis said. Sawyer was also asked why he had previously operated from "pop-up" clinics.
"It's because some clients were high profile clients who did not want everybody to know where they were," Sawyer said.
