Former Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke believes that Harry Maguire's time at the club is over and that selling him would benefit the development of young defender Leny Yoro.

Ruben Amorim has been advised to sell Harry Maguire amidst concerns that the defender could hinder the progress of young Manchester United star Leny Yoro . Former United legend Dwight Yorke believes both Maguire and Jonny Evans ' time at Old Trafford is coming to an end. The Red Devils are undergoing a period of rebuilding under Amorim, but the team's performance has yet to meet expectations.

Despite reaching the Europa League knockout stage and eliminating Arsenal from the FA Cup, United have suffered six losses in Amorim's first 12 Premier League games, leaving them in 12th place. Yorke acknowledges the need for squad rejuvenation, not only through new signings like Patrick Dorgu, but also by offloading underperforming players. While Evans' contract expires in the summer, Maguire's future appears more secure as the club recently activated the one-year extension in his deal. Despite facing criticism over the years, Maguire has emerged as one of United's better players this season, seemingly retaining Amorim's confidence. However, Yorke urges the manager to move on from the 31-year-old and prioritize Yoro's development. 'Harry Maguire has done his time at Manchester United, he's been a great player at the club and he's won trophies in his time,' Yorke stated. 'But now, it's time to turn the page, Man United need to move on from Maguire, and even the likes of Jonny Evans, who I have a lot of respect for. The club needs fresher legs, players like Leny Yoro need to be integrated into the team and Maguire can hold his development back. Sir Alex Ferguson would have been ruthless in this position, he knew when certain players' time was up and he would sell Maguire. Fans would understand if he left the club, he's done his time.' Yoro, acquired from Lille last summer for £52 million, is touted as a future world-class defender. While he has shown glimpses of his potential, he endured a difficult outing during the recent 3-1 victory over Southampton, where he was heavily outplayed.
