Senator Rick Scott made a stop in Duval County Saturday where early voting is set to close on Sunday.with some counties open Sunday to fill out a ballot.“So I’m up here trying to get everybody out to vote,” Scott said. “Whoever your candidate is, go vote. And then, between now and November you need to go support the person you believe in and go do everything that can help them win,” he said.“I’m in the primary this year,” he said. “So I want to have a big win.
“I’m running to be the Republican leader,” Scott said. “And hopefully if we get a majority, I’ll be the majority leader. I’m really frustrated with the way this has been working.” Should Scott advance to November’s ballot, some polls place democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell in striking distance.“My story, on the other hand, is a story that represents the experiences of Florida’s families – one of hard work and opportunity. That’s why together, we’re going to fight for our fundamental freedoms and send Rick Scott into retirement this November.”‘It’s over’: Former Rep. Brown, State Rep.
But Scott said he isn’t concerned about the polling numbers because he feels they haven’t been accurate in his past races. “We’re gonna have a big win,” he said. “But I’m going to go out and work every day to make sure we have a big win.”Chris Will has joined the News4JAX team as a weekend morning reporter, after graduating from the University of Florida in spring 2024.
