THE Senate on Friday adopted a resolution creating a special committee that will study the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Manila Central Post Office (MCPO), which was destroyed by fire last May 21. READ HERE:

Under Adopted Resolution 70, a special committee composed of Senate President Pro Tempore Lorna Regina 'Loren' Legarda, Minority Leader Aquilino 'Koko' Pimentel 3rd, Senators Pilar Juliana 'Pia' Cayetano, Maria Lourdes 'Nancy' Binay and Juan Edgardo 'Sonny' Angara, was created to study, review, assess, examine, investigate and inquire into the matters relating to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the iconic building and famous landmark in Manila.

The special committee shall be tasked primarily to study the extent of the damage, cost of reconstruction and rehabilitation, actions that must be taken for the immediate rehabilitation of the building, and other matters that may be necessary to undertake in relation to the restoration of the historic building.
