A senior software engineer has been awarded nearly £90,000 in compensation after his boss referred to a neighbor as 'Indian Bill' and made derogatory comments about ethnic minorities during the pandemic. The engineer, Heerendra Gohil, accused the managing director Paul Jennings of racism and alleged that such comments made him feel degraded and reminded him of being seen differently.
The employment tribunal held in Birmingham ruled that Jennings' comments were inherently racist and awarded Gohil compensation
