Sephora, the popular beauty retailer, is set to open a second store in Manchester, located in the Arndale shopping centre. This follows the successful launch of its first UK store outside of London in the Trafford Centre last year. The new store is scheduled to open in summer 2025 and will be Sephora UK's tenth store.
Last year, beauty enthusiasts in Manchester went wild as Sephora opened its first major UK store outside of London in the Trafford Centre . Following the tremendous success of its store in London's Westfield shopping center, the Trafford Centre seemed like the perfect next step for the beauty giant to bring its extensive product offerings to a Northern audience.
The Trafford Centre Sephora launch, which took place in May 2024, saw huge crowds forming ahead of its doors opening - with a thousands-long queue so extensive it curved through the entire shopping centre and into the car park. Some shoppers were so eager to get in first they were spotted camping outside. Since its opening, the Trafford Centre's Sephora store continues to see a heavy stream of shoppers - which comes as no surprise given the vast array of makeup, fragrance, haircare and skincare brands in store - many of which cannot be found elsewhere. Paired with its more tailored and personalized approach to beauty, with its own brow bar, a Sephora Lip Bar, a Hot on Social corner consisting of the 10 most talked-about products on social media, a personalized gifting and gift wrapping, and a fragrance engraving service, it's no wonder it's become a pinnacle of the Greater Manchester shopping centre. Now, the Manchester Evening News can exclusively reveal that Sephora has confirmed it is opening a second Manchester store - in the Arndale. The launch is scheduled for summer 2025. Manchester Arndale will be Sephora UK’s tenth store. Other Sephora stores that will be opening in 2025 include Liverpool ONE and Sheffield’s Meadowhall Shopping Centre. Sephora UK’s current store locations include Westfield London, Westfield Stratford City, Manchester’s Trafford Centre, Newcastle’s Eldon Square, Gateshead’s Metrocentre, Birmingham Bullring and Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent. Sarah Boyd, Managing Director at Sephora, told the M.E.N. why the brand has made the decision to open a second store in Manchester. She said: 'Manchester showed us phenomenal support when we opened our first store in the region, which blew away all our expectations. 'We are thrilled at bringing a second beauty playground to our customers in this vibrant and culturally rich city, allowing us to reach even more shoppers with a city centre location at Arndale. We already know there is strong appetite from beauty enthusiasts in Manchester as we saw over 2,000 eager customers queue on our opening day last year, and we look forward to recreating the same energy at Arndale and to continue providing an unparalleled beauty experience like no other.' 2024 was a landmark year for Sephora UK, with the launch of its first stores outside of London. The brand’s regional expansions have been met with excitement and enthusiasm, as beauty lovers nationwide flock to experience a curated selection of top beauty brands—many of which had never been available in the UK until Sephora’s arrival. Sephora Arndale will continue to bring an incredible selection of expertly curated, ground- breaking local and global brands that have disrupted the beauty industry across the makeup, travel, fragrance, skincare, haircare, grooming and wellness categories. As part of the unparalleled shopping experience that Sephora strives to provide, beauty enthusiasts can indulge in exclusive, “Only at Sephora” brands such as the iconic Makeup by Mario, Haus Labs by renowned global artist Lady Gaga, and cult heroes which have stood the test of time from Tarte Cosmetics. As well as stocking an extensive range of exclusive and non-exclusive beauty brands, Sephora will also have its own dedicated Sephora Collection section to showcase its own range of cosmetics, body care and hair care. Accessibly priced and containing highly efficacious formulas and ingredients, Sephora Collection’s innovative launches and bright coloured packaging are expected to be a popular amongst customers. More than just a shopping experience, customers can also receive beauty treatments via Sephora’s in-store beauty services at its ‘Beauty Hub’. Whether you’re looking for a quick-fire touch-up on your office break or needing a full glam ahead of your night out, Sephora’s Beauty Hub will offer an array of bookable services such as makeup application by Sephora Collection, facial skincare services, hair styling, and brows by Benefit Cosmetics
