The Camp and Furnace event includes a talk from an expert
The Myth of Serial Killer Profiling will be taking place at Camp and Furnace on Thursday, October 27 at 7pm. Developed in the 1970s by the FBI, criminal profiling is used in many serial murder investigations globally. Using information about a crime, crime scenes and victims, profilers can compose behavioural profiles of criminals.
The event will feature a talk from Professor Jackson, who has contributed to over 50 documentaries about violent crimes and murder. He has also worked to assist investigations into serial rape, murder and missing people.By focusing on some of the most infamous and perplexing serial murder cases in FBI history, the show will reveal how criminal profilers have often got it wrong. Some of these cases include the Yorkshire Ripper, the Trailside Killer and the unsolved case of the Zodiac Killer.
Professor Jackson will dispel many FBI myths about serial murderers as well as looking at how behavioural analysis has been used in high profile murder investigations. Advance discount tickets to the event cost £21.15 and can be purchased here.
