John Skidmore, a prolific shoplifter from Preston, has been sentenced to 18 weeks in prison and issued a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order barring him from entering certain stores in Chorley and South Ribble. The order prevents Skidmore from entering ASDA, Bargain Booze, Spar, and B&Q stores in the area. He is also subject to various other conditions, including obeying all other banning orders issued by retail premises and refraining from threatening or abusive behavior.
A prolific shoplifter from Preston has been jailed and banned from entering certain shops in Chorley and South Ribble. John Skidmore appeared at Preston Magistrates Court last week where he pleaded guilty to three counts of theft from a shop which relates to incidents in Chorley and South Ribble throughout January.
Inspector John Scott from Chorley and South Ribble’s Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "I hope that this result gives the community and businesses of Chorley and South Ribble some reassurance that we will not tolerate shoplifting and other criminal activity and we will do our utmost to bring these offenders to justice."
"The public need to know that in the event of a crime such as shoplifting, the police will come, and the crime will be punished accordingly.
