The A57 is closed in both directions between the M67 Junction 4 and the B6174 this morning as a result of a 'serious' collision involving a lorry and a car.
Greater Manchester Police are in attendance. Traffic is being diverted via local roads by emergency services at the scene.Roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix reported the incident at 2.35am. An update at 3.05am said: "A57 Mottram Moor in both directions closed due to serious accident, a lorry and a car involved from M67 to A6018 Back Moor."
At 3.04am, National Highways: North-West tweeted: "The #A57 is closed in both directions between the #M67 J4 and the B6174 #Mottram due to a collision."For more stories from where you live, visit
