Serious offenders face longer jail sentences in crackdown by Boris Johnson on soft justice | charleshymas
He has ordered a review of the laws to end the scandal of "super-prolifics" who escape jail despite having as many as 50 convictions, increase sentences for serious and violent offenders and halt the automatic release of the vast majority of prisoners halfway through their sentences.
