Lancashire Police executed a warrant at an address in Great Harwood, leading to the recovery of a suspected handgun and the arrest of seven individuals.
Seven people have been arrested after a firearm was recovered from a property in Great Harwood . Lancashire Police executed a warrant at an address on Meadow Street at 9am today (Monday, January 8). A search was conducted and officers discovered what they believed to be a handgun. This was found in a building on the site and has been seized for further analysis by ballistic experts. A caravan and a Nissan X Trail vehicle was also seized during the warrant.
Seven people between the ages of 17 and 48 were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm. Enquiries are ongoing. Assistant Chief Constable Karen Edwards said: “We will continue to work with our partners to target and arrest those who engage in serious criminality and I hope that today’s action shows that we will take action on the issues that are of most concern to our communities.” Anyone with information may contact police on 101 quoting log 0170 of January 8.
