Manchester United transfer news as seven players face a defining week under Erik ten Hag before the pre-season tour of America
Erik ten Hag doesn't have long to get things shipshape for Manchester United this summer. Pre-season has already begun, in a sense, and there is plenty of work still to do.
Things are certainly moving at some speed, but United are yet to really get the core of their squad together, less than a month before domestic action starts. This is both a threat and an opportunity. The threat here is that Ten Hag is losing time with what he might consider his best team and most influential players. There is less chance to groove and to prepare with the team he will be relying on most in the coming months.
The same is true of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Scott McTominay. Both have regularly been linked with an exit and are not first-choice anywhere. They are useful to have, and again played more than many might have expected in 2023/24, but as United look to refresh in midfield, plus Mason Mount returns, it is not out of the equation that they depart.
