NFL quarterback Tom Brady has announced his retirement from American football, again
. In a 53-second video posted on social media, the 45-year-old told fans that he is "retiring, for good," closing the chapter on an illustrious career spanning 23 years at the top.
This is the second time Brady has announced his retirement from the game. He initially revealed plans to hang up his helmet last year before changing his mind just 40 days later and resigning for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the video posted online, an emotional Brady said: "Good morning guys, I'll get to the point right away, I'm retiring, for good.
"So I really thank you guys so much to every single one of you for supporting me, my family, my friends, my team-mates, my competitors, I could go on forever there's too many."Love you all". Former teammates and opponents have come forward to pay tributes to the seven-time Super Bowl champion. Among one of them was Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes who will be featuring in this year's Super Bowl.
Brady will go down in history as one of the greatest NFL players of all time. He played in 10 Super Bowls during his career, winning six with the New England Patriots and one with Tampa Bay Buccanneers.
