Dark chocolate and dried fruit and nut products have been recalled by Cal Yee Farm Several chocolate products have been recalled over concerns they could ’cause serious adverse health consequences or death’. Cal Yee Farm’s Dark Chocolate Almonds, Dark Chocolate Apricots and Dark Chocolate Walnuts have been upgraded to the highest risk level by the US Food and Drug Administration for having undeclared ingredients including milk.
The products were packaged in clear plastic zipper pouches in 8 ounce, 1 pound, 2 pound and 5 pound sizes, with bright yellow labels. Fruit baskets also had the yellow labels. No sickness due to consuming the products was reported at the time. The recall has since been elevated to Class I, which signals a ‘reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death’.
