Following the resignation of Jose Faustino Jr. as the officer-in-charge of the Department of National Defense , several high-ranking officials of the DND will tender their resignation, a defense spokesperson confirmed Tuesday, Jan. 10.DND spokesperson Arsenio Andolong revealed that about seven to nine officials with ranks assistant secretary to undersecretary are expected to submit their resignation because their positions are coterminous with Faustino.
The DND has yet to publicize the names of the resigning officials but based on the website of the defense department, it currently has three undersecretaries and seven assistant secretaries.Assistant Secretaries Pablo Lorenzo ; Henry Robinson Jr. ; Antonio Bautista ; Gavin Edjawan ; Joselito Ramos ; Emmanuel Anthony Ramos ; and lawyer Erik Lawrence Dy .
“The DND and AFP are both professional organizations. This is not the first time that it happened and the hierarchy is designed in such a way that since you are a professional, regardless of who holds the reigns of leadership, you will have to continue your operations,” Andolong said.
