'Severe' cold weather alert extended into weekend amid 'danger to health' warnings
A rare amber weather alert for 'severe' cold has been extended into the weekend amid 'danger to health' warnings.
The UKHSA has urged Brits to look out for vulnerable and elderly neighbours over the next two days as concerns rise for those still too afraid to put on their heating due to soaring energy bills. The Met Office is warning that all of England will experience cold weather until Saturday. Met Office advice urges people to "look out for friends and family who may be vulnerable to the cold, and ensure they have access to warm food and drinks and are managing to heat their homes adequately".
