The Bureau of Meteorology is warning that a heatwave in Queensland coupled with gusty winds could create and extreme fire risk in parts of the state.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Felim Hanniffy said Channel Country would feel the peak of the heatwave on Tuesday or Wednesday.
