Severe weather with heavy rain and hail hit the Greeley area on Tuesday night.
According to the City of Greeley, 8th Street between U.S. 85 and U.S. 49 was closed early Wednesday morning due to flooding conditions. Drivers are advised to avoid the area until the flood waters subside, according to the city.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, golf ball size hail had been reported in Johnstown, Colorado. That is a hail stone measuring 1.75 inches in diameter. The strongest storms are likely on the eastern plains where a few storms could become severe. There is also a low risk of tornadoes.
