FIRST ALERT: A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 3 p.m. for parts of Northern Maine.
We had a rainy and stormy start to this Monday as showers and thunderstorms quickly moved through. Southern New England saw 1 to 2 inches of rainfall in a short time so we did have some localized flooding and standing water during the commute. The evening commute will be much calmer!
A stray pop-up shower or storm will be possible through sunset still as the cold front moves through slowly. High temps reach the low 80s to 70s at the coast with a light sea breeze. The humidity lowers late in the evening. Strong wind gusts and hail are possible. By Tuesday, we dry out with full sun and the humidity is long-gone behind the cold front as high pressure returns. Highs will be a touch cooler but in the 70s. Even cooler air is around for Wednesday with more sun and highs in the low 70s.
