“We keep having these discussions about how to make sure that the people who are participating and ready to work, get situated and jobs faster,” said District 4 San Antonio Councilwoman Adriana Rocha Garcia. Councilwoman Rocha Garcia said the program aims to provide a skilled workforce for businesses in San Antonio and place at least 80% of participants in jobs that pay more than $15 an hour, within six months. So far, it has fallen short of its goal.
A woman who does not want to be identified says she had no idea the ready-to-work program was available and would consider using it.
