Scattered storms take over Indiana today with a small break from the heat on the way.

This was issued as an ongoing complex of thunderstorms is tracking southeast through lower Michigan and into southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. If this line holds together, it will pose the threat of damaging wind gusts and isolated storms with large 1.5 inches hail across northern Indiana. We've had one storm cell that has remained at severe limits as it tracks across Fountain and Tippecanoe counties. Damaging wind/large hail is possible with this storm.

It'll be relatively quiet outside of this storm across central Indiana this morning. If the storm complex to our north holds together, this will likely impact northern Indiana through the early afternoon and bring scattered storms around the metro by the evening rush hour. Storm coverage area is expected to become more widespread this evening. The entire state is under a level 2 of 5 from the Storm Prediction Center, with a risk of damaging wind gusts within storms tonight and overnight.
