The human remains were found by a member of the public on Sewell Road and Eastern Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

This is just a short walk away from HMP Isis, which also holds young offenders. The Metropolitan Police confirmed ‘enquiries are ongoing’. They said: ‘Police were called at 12:36hrs on Wednesday, 6 November to reports of suspected human remains/bones at Sewell Road, Thamesmead.
A receptionist working in hotel near where the incident happened told Metro she heard about what happened after arriving at work this morning, when a colleague told her a human head had been found. She said: ‘I work in the building across the street; I haven’t heard much but I’m just in shock.’ Chief Inspector Trisha Clark said: ‘We are aware of videos and images circulating on social media which are causing distress to the deceased’s family and those viewing them inadvertently.
