A discovery centre manager has voiced concerns over a proposed sewage pipeline, citing the river's importance as a healthy habitat for wildlife. The plans would see treated sewage discharged into the River Onny, which flows through land owned by the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. Grant Wilson, from the centre, highlighted the presence of native crayfish, breeding otters, kingfishers, and dippers in the area. Severn Trent, the water company behind the proposal, stated that the pipe would handle fully treated water and that the plans were developed in consultation with environmental agencies.

A discovery centre manager has raised concerns over a proposed new sewage pipeline saying the river concerned provides a healthy habitat for wildlife.

Grant Wilson, from the centre, said the area was home to native crayfish, breeding otters, kingfishers and dippers. "Children paddle in here, people bring their dogs to play in the summer and also we know that it's a very healthy habitat and we've got breeding otters that we're really, really proud of," Mr Wilson said.
