A burst sewer main caused a sewage spill on the M8 motorway in Scotland, forcing the closure of a slip road. One motorist claims the smell is still lingering despite washing his car twice.
A motorist claims he is still experiencing a strong odor in his car after driving through a sewage spill on the M8 motorway. The westbound slip road at junction 25A for Braehead was closed on Friday morning due to contaminated water. Scottish Water reported that a burst sewer main caused localized flooding in the area near Braehead Shopping Centre. The motorist stated his car was completely covered in sewage and despite washing it twice, the smell persisted.
Traffic was diverted to Renfrew Road, and the road reopened by Friday evening after a cleanup. Scottish Water apologized for the inconvenience and disruption, and stated they are planning repairs for the burst main
