Dolphin with bizarre pink skin ‘gives birth to ultra-rare pink calf'
The unusual creature, known as Pinky, has been seen swimming with a pink baby in the Calcasieu river in Louisiana.Pinky the Dolphin / FacebookThe candyfloss-coloured creature shot to fame 12 years ago when she was spotted swimming alongside her mum.
Pinky appears to be a Pink River Dolphin, whose striking colouring is believed to be caused by a genetic mutation. The birth of Pinky's calf has sparked further hopes that the babies of pink dolphins could share their mother's colouring, which could even double the current population.
