A Salt Lake County man was arrested Saturday after reportedly striking an officer on the head with a metal rod as they were trying to detain him on reports of a

sexual battery assault.

Utah Transit Authority police officers said that they were dispatched to a TRAX platform on March 16 regarding a man who grabbed a woman's breast as he was passing by her while boarding the train.When authorities attempted to take Maker into custody, they said he resisted and tried to flee, ignoring their commands to stop.

Maker was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on a third-degree felony charge of assault of a police officer, a Class A misdemeanor charge of failure to stop at the command of law enforcement, and a Class A misdemeanor charge of sexual battery.
