Tyler Fitzgerald homered twice against the Rockies, becoming the first Giant to homer seven times in eight games since Barry Bonds

San Francisco Giants’ Tyler Fitzgerald watches his fourth inning home run against the Colorado Rockies, Friday, July 26, 2024, at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Calif. Fitzgerald stayed scorching hot as enjoyed the first multi-homer game of his career, sending two home runs into the San Francisco night and driving in a career-high four RBIs.

With two homers on the night, Fitzgerald becomes the first Giant to have seven home runs in his last eight games since Barry Bonds did so in April 2004. Fitzgerald achieved the feat just several days after he became theHot streaks of this nature aren’t entirely new to Fitzgerald. This past May, Fitzgerald hit six home runs in a five-game stretch with Triple-A Sacramento.

Soler and Ramos flexed their muscles with a home run apiece, too, giving the Giants their first four-homer game since April 13 . Soler launched a leadoff long ball more than halfway up the left-field bleachers to give the Giants an early lead that they’d never lose, while Ramos hit a three-run dagger in the eight. Soler, who also singled twice and drew a walk, is heating up in his own right, reaching base multiple times in his last four games and drawn a walk in his last five games.

Harrison’s dominance of the Rockies is quickly becoming a recurring theme in the 22-year-old’s major-league career. In five career outings against Colorado, Harrison has allowed seven earned runs over 28 innings with 27 strikeouts.
