Police spokesperson said Eve Laokwansathitaya said that officers responded to Willow Street and Van Ness Avenue at 11:56 p.m. to investigate the armed robbery, and “attempted to make contact with a man armed with a firearm.” The police department will hold a town hall meeting about the shooting within 10 days. This incident is being investigated by several city departments: the District Attorney’s Office, the SFPD’s Investigative Services Division and Internal Affairs Division, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the Department of Police Accountability.
