The SFA will publicly review the performance of VAR this Friday and admit that Rangers should have been awarded a penalty during their Premier Sports Cup final loss to Celtic.

The Scottish Football Association ( SFA ) is expected to admit that Rangers should have been awarded a penalty in their Premier Sports Cup final loss to Celtic . The SFA will publicly review the performance of VAR this Friday, following the controversial Celtic win. Rangers CEO Patrick Stewart contacted the SFA demanding clarity after Vaclav Cerny went down in the box late in normal time, seemingly pulled by Liam Scales.

Referee John Beaton and the VAR team of Alan Muir and Frank Connor did not award a penalty. However, the VAR team has since been removed from this weekend's matches. The Scottish Sun reports that the SFA's Key Match Incident panel will review the decision on Thursday and announce on Friday that Rangers should have had a penalty. Head of refereeing Willie Collum is also expected to address the issue in his next VAR review on YouTube
