CLEVELAND, Ohio - A Shaker Heights woman was convicted of driving drunk and causing a crash on I-71 in April.Jones will be sentenced on Sept. 12.
On April 30 around 1:15 a.m., Jones was driving at a high rate of speed on I-71 North at Denison Avenue, when she rear-ended a parked North Coast Emergency Services vehicle, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers. The North Coast Emergency Services vehicle was parked behind a trooper’s patrol car while he was on a traffic stop.The North Coast Emergency Services team member, Rufus Killpatrick, 63, of Parma, was trapped inside his vehicle for a short time.North Coast Emergency Services is a group of trained professionals who provide a safety patrol service throughout the area for first responders.
