Manchester United fell to a 2-1 defeat at Brighton on Saturday, and Alan Shearer was left unimpressed by one star in particular despite Gary Lineker looking to defend him
Alan Shearer has expressed his disappointment over Marcus Rashford in Manchester United's damaging defeat to Brighton.
United left the south coast without any points after missing numerous chances due to Rashford and others failing to time runs correctly. But the Blackburn Rovers icon fixated on Rashford as the worst culprit for the same bad habit which impeded him from making a real impact.READ MORE: Kenny Dalglish lost his mind when Roy Keane U-turned on Blackburn transfer and made wild threat
Rashford, 26, was then shown in greater detail as Shearer broke down his numerous missteps in finer detail. The MOTD pundit was especially critical of one instance where the forward stayed offside for a prolonged period, saying it "really is staggering" to see considering Rashford could see the whole pitch.
"Ruud van Nistelrooy's been brought in, he's gonna have to work his magic somehow," added Shearer, who also pointed out United's count of 57 goals in the league last term was "the worst in the top half" of the table. "I know they've got Hojlund out injured, but when he comes in, he's gonna have to improve that."
