The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed that a 15-year-old has been charged with murder, possession of a bladed article, and affray.
The suspect will face Sheffield Youth Court on Wednesday. Chris Hartley, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for the CPS Yorkshire and Humberside, stated that the CPS reviewed evidence from South Yorkshire Police and authorized the charges against the 15-year-old in connection with Harvey's death at the school on February 3rd. Hartley emphasized that criminal proceedings are ongoing and the youth has the right to a fair trial. He urged against any reporting, commentary, or sharing of information online that could potentially prejudice the proceedings. Harvey's family visited the school on Tuesday afternoon, where a touching display of flowers, balloons, and cards had been left in his memory.
