By Molly WilliamsA plaque recognising the actions of campaigners who fought to save threatened trees in Sheffield will be installed by the city council in 2024.
The plaque was part of the council's attempt to address its failings, according to a report by the authority.'Failure of leadership', the plans for the plaque were approved alongside the council's apology, which was issued in a four-page letter on Tuesday. "[It is] in recognition of those who fought for our environmental heritage and were vindicated, and to serve as a reminder to all elected members that this failure of leadership will never happen again," they added.
