Several rounds of what sounds like gunfire can be heard, as police rushed to a disturbance on Fernieside Crescent at 8.25am on Tuesday morning.
Shocking footage has emerged of the moment 'gunshots' were fired in an Edinburgh street, where it has emerged a 78-year-old woman has died.
It all goes quiet for a moment before voices can be heard shouting several times for someone to get their "hands over their head".The scene is very quiet again before several rounds of gunfire are heard for a second time around 10 seconds later. Paramedics also attended and the 78-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A 36-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.Police say it was an isolated incident, however, officers remain in the area to provide public reassurance.
